Chemical Peels · Battersea SW11
Chemical peels in Battersea. Calibrated to your skin tone, not assumed.
A peel for darker skin needs more care, not less. We patch test first, start conservatively, and choose the peel and strength for your Fitzpatrick type. Lactic, salicylic, glycolic and Jessner peels for hydration, congestion, brightness and pigmentation. Delivered by our founder Arman Zaki, GMC-registered Physician Associate, and Vicki, Aesthetic Practitioner.
Our position is to even tone, never to lighten or bleach. Every peel begins with a Fitzpatrick assessment and a patch test, and we will tell you honestly when a peel is not the right first step. 10 to 14 minutes' walk from Clapham Junction.
Chemical peels at a glance
What it is
A chemical peel applies a controlled exfoliating acid to the skin to encourage cell turnover. It may improve texture, congestion, dullness and the look of uneven tone over a course. These are non-prescription cosmetic peels.
Our peels
Lactic (hydration and gentle resurfacing), salicylic (congestion and breakouts), glycolic (brightness and texture), and a Jessner blend (advanced pigmentation and brightening). The peel and strength are chosen for your skin.
Who delivers it
Arman Zaki, GMC-registered Physician Associate (Ref A8131967), and Vicki Lefeuve, Aesthetic Practitioner. Every plan is led by Arman at consultation.
Skin of Colour
Fitzpatrick I to VI. In Fitzpatrick IV to VI skin we take extra care: a patch test, a conservative start, and an honest conversation about whether a peel is the right first step, because resurfacing carries a pigmentation risk in deeper tones.
Price
Single peels from £110. Each is also a course of three at a reduced per-session rate, from £99 a session. Singles on Treatwell, courses via consultation. Prices verified 16 June 2026.

The four peels
Matched to your skin, not the next person's.
Each peel targets a different concern. The right one, and the right strength, is confirmed at your consultation and patch test. Single peels are bookable on Treatwell. The course of three is arranged through a consultation.
Skin Reset · Lactic 20%
The gentle one, hydration and glow
Our gentlest peel. Lactic acid is a larger molecule that works closer to the surface, geared toward hydration and a soft resurfacing. A sensible first peel, and a friendly choice for skin that is new to peels.
£110 single · £99 a session, course of 3
Acne Control · Salicylic 10%
For congestion and breakouts
Salicylic acid is oil-soluble, so it works inside the pore. The peel for congestion, blackheads and breakout-prone skin. In deeper skin tones we are especially careful here, salicylic can carry a higher pigmentation risk, so the strength and pace are set conservatively.
£120 single · £110 a session, course of 3
Skin Brightening · Glycolic 40%
For brightness and texture
Glycolic acid is the smallest molecule, so it works briskly on dullness and texture for a brighter, smoother finish. A stronger peel, which is exactly why the patch test and Fitzpatrick assessment matter before we use it.
£135 single · £120 a session, course of 3
Pigmentation & Brightening · Jessner Blend
Our advanced pigmentation peel
A blended peel for more stubborn pigmentation and uneven tone. The most advanced of the four, used selectively and conservatively, and only after assessment. For pigmentation in Skin of Colour it sits inside a wider, sun-protection-led plan, never as a quick fix.
£160 single · £140 a session, course of 3
All peels are non-prescription cosmetic treatments. Suitability, Fitzpatrick type and skin history are confirmed at consultation and patch test before any treatment. Individual results vary, and outcomes are not guaranteed.
How we use peels
Conservative by design. A course, not a one-off.
Why a course of three
Tone and texture build step by step.
A single peel freshens the skin, but real change in texture and tone tends to develop across a short course rather than from one session. We offer each peel as a course of three, usually spaced about two to four weeks apart, so the skin responds and recovers between sessions. A single peel is always available. Individual results vary.
Skin of Colour, done properly
Even tone, never lighten.
In Fitzpatrick IV to VI skin, any resurfacing carries a real risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation. So we patch test, start gently, and protect the result with daily broad spectrum SPF 50. For pigmentation, a peel is one part of a wider plan that leads with sun protection, never a first-line quick fix. Our clinical goal is even, healthy tone. We do not lighten or bleach.

The evidence, honestly stated
Why we are cautious with peels in Skin of Colour.
A 2024 systematic review of pigmentation treatments in skin of colour found that chemical peels should not be routinely recommended as a first-line treatment for hyperpigmentation in deeper skin tones, though they may have a role in selected, refractory cases. Salicylic acid in particular was associated with a notable rate of hyperpigmentation in the population studied. This is exactly why our peels are patch tested, conservative, and second to sun protection in any pigmentation plan.

FAQs from Battersea patients
Common questions.
Are chemical peels safe for darker skin tones and Skin of Colour?
They can be, with the right peel, the right strength and a careful protocol, but darker skin needs more caution, not less. In Fitzpatrick IV to VI skin any resurfacing carries a risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation, and the evidence is clear that some peels, salicylic acid in particular, are associated with a notable rate of pigmentation in deeper skin tones. That is exactly why we patch test first, start conservatively, and will tell you honestly when a peel is not the right first step. Our position is to even tone, never to lighten or bleach. A Fitzpatrick assessment is part of every consultation.
Which chemical peel is right for me?
It depends on your skin and your goal, confirmed at consultation. As a guide: the lactic peel is the gentlest, for hydration and a soft resurfacing. The salicylic peel suits congestion and breakouts. The glycolic peel targets brightness and texture. The Jessner blend is our advanced option for pigmentation and brightening. We match the peel to your skin rather than running the same solution on everyone.
What is a chemical peel and how does it work?
A chemical peel applies a controlled exfoliating acid to the skin for a set time, then neutralises it. This encourages surface skin cells to turn over and may improve texture, congestion, dullness and the look of uneven tone over a course. The strength is chosen for your skin, and these are non-prescription cosmetic peels. Results build gradually and individual responses vary.
Why is a course of three recommended?
Peels work cumulatively. A single peel freshens the skin, but texture and tone tend to improve step by step over a short course rather than from one session. We offer each peel as a course of three, usually spaced about two to four weeks apart, so the skin responds and recovers between sessions. A single session is available. Individual results vary.
Do I need a patch test?
Yes. A patch test is part of the process, especially in deeper skin tones where the priority is to reduce the risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation. The patch test and your Fitzpatrick assessment let us confirm the right peel and strength before any full treatment.
Who delivers chemical peels at Melatone?
Chemical peels are delivered by Arman Zaki, our founder and GMC-registered Physician Associate (Ref A8131967), and by Vicki Lefeuve, Aesthetic Practitioner. Every patient's plan is led by Arman at consultation.
How much do chemical peels cost in Battersea?
Single peels are from £110: Skin Reset lactic £110, Acne Control salicylic £120, Skin Brightening glycolic £135, and Pigmentation and Brightening Jessner £160. Each is also a course of three at a reduced per-session rate, from £99 a session. Single peels are bookable on Treatwell. Courses are arranged through a consultation. Prices verified 16 June 2026.
What downtime should I expect afterwards?
It depends on the peel and strength. Lighter peels may leave the skin a little pink with mild flaking over a few days. Stronger peels can involve more visible peeling for several days. Sun protection with a daily broad spectrum SPF 50 is essential afterwards, particularly in deeper skin tones. We give you full aftercare at your appointment. Individual responses vary.
