If your goal is skin quality and hydration, a biostimulator may be the more appropriate option, confirmed at consultation.

Profhilo H+L follows the manufacturer's bio-remodelling protocol of two sessions, spaced about four weeks apart. The first session introduces the stabilised hyaluronic acid, and the second, about four weeks later, builds on the skin's response. The stimulation of collagen and elastin is reported to develop across both visits rather than from a single one, which is why two sessions are the standard starting protocol. After the initial two, a maintenance session is typically considered every 6 to 9 months. Individual results vary.

It uses non cross-linked hyaluronic acid (22mg per 1.1ml) formulated for the delicate skin of the lips, to support hydration, smoothness and lip skin quality. It is not used to reshape the lips. Skin boosters and Profhilo are hyaluronic acid based and are not light or heat based, so they do not target melanin the way some laser or energy devices can. They are injected treatments, so as with any injection there is a small risk of bruising, and in Fitzpatrick IV to VI skin any trauma carries a risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation.
