PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is a regenerative treatment that uses your own blood. We take a small sample, spin it to concentrate the platelets and their growth factors, and return that plasma to your skin or scalp through microneedling or injection. It works with your own biology to support repair, so results build gradually over a course. It is not a filler and not a drug. Results vary between individuals.

The Vampire Facial is PRP microneedling: microneedling paired with topical PRP from your own blood. The microneedling creates fine channels that let the growth factors reach where they work, to support skin texture, tone and overall quality. At Melatone it is from £450 for a single session, or £1,200 for a course of 3, often followed by an annual top-up.

PRP hair restoration aims to support the hair follicles in thinning areas, and it is most suited to early to moderate thinning. It is typically given as 3 to 4 sessions, 4 weeks apart, then maintenance, from £200 a session or a course of 3 from £540. We confirm whether it is right for your pattern of thinning at consultation, and we are honest when another route would suit you better. Results vary.

Because PRP uses your own blood, there is no foreign substance and allergy risk is essentially zero. There is no laser wavelength or high-strength acid involved, so it avoids the pigmentation risk that harsher treatments can carry on melanin-rich skin. It is suitable across Fitzpatrick I to VI, and Melatone is a Skin of Colour founded clinic, so this is central to how we deliver it.
