Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This Cookie Policy sits alongside our Privacy Policy. It explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on melatoneskinclinic.co.uk, why we use them, and how you can control them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your actions or preferences over time. We also use related technologies such as local storage and tracking pixels, which we treat the same way as cookies in this policy.
Categories of cookies we use
1. Strictly necessary
Essential for the website to work. These cannot be switched off because the site would not function without them. Examples include session cookies and the cookie consent state cookie. We rely on legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) for strictly necessary cookies. No consent banner is required for this category.
2. Analytics (consent required)
These cookies help us understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation enabled. Typical cookies in this category include _ga and _ga_* (retained up to 14 months) and _gid (24 hours). We rely on your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) for analytics cookies, and we do not fire them until you say yes.
3. Marketing (consent required)
These cookies allow us to deliver advertising relevant to your interests and to measure ad performance. Typical cookies include _gcl_au for Google Ads conversion tracking, and _fbp for Meta conversion tracking. Retention periods are usually 3 to 24 months depending on the provider. We rely on your consent for all marketing cookies.
4. Functional (consent required)
These cookies remember your preferences to personalise your experience, such as language preference and booking widget remember-me settings. Typically retained for 12 months.
Third party services we use
- Google Analytics 4 for anonymised usage analytics. Google privacy policy.
- Google Ads for conversion measurement and remarketing where you have consented. Google Ads policy.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) for conversion measurement and remarketing where you have consented. Meta data policy.
- Treatwell embedded booking widget. Treatwell privacy policy.

- Vercel for hosting and edge analytics. Vercel privacy policy.
Your choices
- Accept all cookies via our cookie banner on first visit.
- Reject all non-essential cookies via the same banner.
- Customise which categories you allow.
- Change your mind at any time using the cookie preferences link in our footer.
- Block cookies in your browser entirely (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge all support this in their settings).
- Use a Do Not Track signal. We treat that as a default no to analytics and marketing cookies.
What happens if you reject
If you reject non-essential cookies, the core site functionality still works exactly the same. You may still see generic adverts from us on third-party platforms (we do not control those), but we will not personalise them to you. We will also not be able to measure your individual usage to improve the site for you specifically.
Changes to this policy
We review this Cookie Policy at least annually and update it whenever our use of cookies changes. The date at the top of this page tells you the most recent version.
