Is the salmon sperm facial the same as polynucleotides?
Yes. Polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments (PDRN) derived from salmon or trout milt, which is where the nickname comes from. The material is purified to remove protein before it is used, so nothing living is injected and it is not sperm in any meaningful sense. You may also see it called salmon DNA, PDRN, or a brand name such as Nucleofill. It is a biostimulator rather than a filler, so it changes skin quality rather than adding volume, and results build over a course. Individual results vary.
How much do polynucleotides cost in Battersea?
At Melatone, Nucleofill polynucleotides are a Course of 3 at £540 (£180 per session, three sessions four weeks apart per the published protocol), or £200 for a single session. The same £540 course price applies to the eye area, full face and hair. A £30 consultation is deducted from your first treatment.

Are polynucleotides safe for darker skin tones?
Yes, when delivered by a clinician experienced in melanated skin, polynucleotide injectables are generally well tolerated across Fitzpatrick skin types IV, V and VI. Because they are not a light-based treatment, they do not carry the wavelength-related risks that laser can pose for deeper skin tones. The main consideration in pigmented skin is post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), which the literature identifies as the key parameter to manage. We minimise that risk with conservative injection technique, fewer passes, needle depth calibrated to each zone, a Fitzpatrick assessment at consultation, and a healing-response check at follow-up. We are honest about the evidence: there is strong category-level research on polynucleotides, but no large product-specific trial dedicated to melanated skin, so we lead with cautious technique and careful patient selection rather than overclaiming. Polynucleotides are not suitable for everyone, and individual results and suitability vary. If your main concern is existing pigmentation such as melasma, we will tell you honestly at consultation whether polynucleotides, another treatment, or none is the right fit.

Polynucleotides vs filler, what is the difference?
Different mechanisms. Filler adds volume by physical displacement. Polynucleotides stimulate your own fibroblasts to improve skin quality over weeks. They are complementary, not interchangeable. We will tell you which one fits your goal at consultation.

When will I see results?
Most patients notice skin texture and hydration improvement after the second session. Full result typically peaks 8 to 12 weeks after the third session. Maintenance every 6 to 9 months.
