Ageless Microneedle Patches

ESK Ageless · 2,600 dissolving hyaluronic acid microneedles per patch, with retinal and copper peptide

An overnight patch for the lines around the eyes, mouth and forehead. Each patch carries 2,600 dissolving hyaluronic acid microneedles, 0.3mm long, with retinal, copper tripeptide-1, niacinamide, caffeine, ferulic acid, resveratrol and three signalling peptides in the tips. Press on at night, leave at least 20 minutes or, better, overnight, at least twice a week, for the look of smoother, plumper skin and softer fine lines. For all skin types, including deeper skin tones (Fitzpatrick V to VI). Not for use in pregnancy.

  • 2,600 hyaluronic acid microneedles per patch dissolve into the skin, hydrating and carrying the actives past the surface.
  • Retinal and copper tripeptide-1, with acetyl hexapeptide-8 and palmitoyl peptides: the ingredients studied for the look of fine lines.
  • Crow's feet, under-eye, smile lines, forehead. Overnight, at least twice a week.
  • Contains retinal: not for use in pregnancy or when trying to conceive. Apply to clean, fully dry skin.

16 patches, 8 pairs: about 2 months at twice a week

A pair a session, both eyes or both smile lines. Microneedle patches are the at-home step closest to what we do with microneedling in clinic, at a fraction of the depth and the cost, and they work alongside a retinal rather than instead of one.

Good to know
Contains retinal. Not for use in pregnancy or when trying to conceive. Apply to clean, thoroughly dry skin: moisture dissolves the needles early. Single use.
Stockist
Melatone Skin Clinic is an authorised ESK stockist. Genuine product with full traceability.

A brief pinprick sensation on application is normal; the needles are 0.3mm. Mild pinkness where the patch sat can last an hour or so. If the area stays red or stings for longer, or you are also using a strong retinal on the same area, drop to once a week and message us.

Not sure if this is right for your skin? Message us on WhatsApp or book a skin assessment and we will confirm the right routine first.

Microneedle patches for lines, honestly

Most people who reach for them have fine lines around the eyes or mouth that a cream has not shifted, and are not ready for injectables or in-clinic treatment. Microneedle patches sit between the two: the needles carry retinal, peptides and hyaluronic acid into the top layers of the skin, where a cream cannot deliver the same amount, and the hyaluronic acid itself plumps the area for a day or so.

What they will not do is match a clinic. In-clinic microneedling goes deeper and treats the whole face; polynucleotides and skin boosters do things a patch cannot. Deep, etched lines and lines from movement (frown lines, deep crow's feet) respond to those, and to anti-wrinkle treatment, not to a 0.3mm needle. A patch softens the look of fine lines; it does not remove them.

On deeper skin tones, microneedle patches are one of the lower-risk ways to work on texture, because the needles are short and dissolve, so there is far less irritation than an acid peel and no heat. Still, apply to dry skin, do not rub, and stop if the area stays red: irritation on deeper skin leaves marks.

Where it fits in a routine

Patch nights, twice a week: cleanse, dry thoroughly, apply the patches to the target area, and use your night cream on the rest of the face. Skip your retinal on the patched area that night.

Other nights: your usual retinal, such as Ultimate A or Ultimate A Gold, and Eye Serum over it around the eyes.

Every morning: Zinc Shade. UV is the main cause of lines, and a retinal patch makes the area more sun-sensitive. For deeper lines, microneedling or polynucleotides in clinic do what a patch cannot.

The detail

Ingredients, and what each one does
Sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid)
The needles themselves. Solid when dry, they dissolve in the skin's moisture, releasing the actives and hydrating the area so it looks plumper.
Retinal (retinaldehyde)
The most active form of vitamin A available without prescription, studied for the look of fine lines and texture. The reason the patches are not for use in pregnancy. Widely studied.
Copper tripeptide-1 (GHK-Cu)
A copper peptide studied for the look of firmness and texture. Widely studied.
Acetyl hexapeptide-8, palmitoyl tripeptide-1, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7
Signalling peptides studied for the look of expression lines and fine lines with steady use.
Niacinamide (vitamin B3), caffeine
Barrier support and, around the eyes, the look of puffiness. Widely studied.
Green tea, ferulic acid, resveratrol
Antioxidants included in the formula.

Needle count, needle length, ingredients, wear time and frequency as published by ESK. ESK publishes no percentages for the patches. Descriptions are about the look and feel of skin, not a medical outcome.

Full ingredients (INCI): Sodium Hyaluronate, Aqua, Niacinamide, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Caffeine, Copper Tripeptide-1, Ferulic Acid, Retinal, Carbomer, Caprylyl Glycol, Polysorbate 20, Pichia/Resveratrol Ferment Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Lactate, Sodium Benzoate, Phenoxyethanol, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7.

How to use it

Applying the patches

  1. At night, cleanse and pat the skin thoroughly dry. Dry hands too: moisture dissolves the needles early.
  2. Remove a patch from its tray and peel off the white protective strip without touching the needles.
  3. Place on the target area (under the eye, the outer corner, a smile line or the forehead) and smooth over the skin with gentle pressure.
  4. Leave for at least 20 minutes or, preferably, overnight. Peel off and discard. Single use.

How often

ESK: at least twice a week. Many people do two nights a week for a course of 8 pairs, then repeat.

Where

Crow's feet, under the eyes, smile lines, forehead, between the brows. Not on broken, irritated or freshly treated skin.

Afterwards

Mild pinkness for an hour or so is normal. SPF the next morning, every time: the area is more sun-sensitive after a retinal.

What to expect, and when
On application
A brief pinprick feeling as the 0.3mm needles seat, then nothing. The patch is near-invisible.
Next morning
The area looks plumper and better hydrated; fine lines look softer for a day or so from the hyaluronic acid.
4 to 8 weeks
With twice-weekly use, the point to judge the look of fine lines from the retinal and peptides.
If deeper lines do not change
They are movement lines or etched lines, which a patch does not reach. Book an assessment to talk through in-clinic options.
Is it right for my skin
Fine lines around the eyes and mouth
Yes. This is the core use.
Forehead and frown lines, fine
Yes. Deep or etched lines need in-clinic treatment.
Deeper skin tones (Fitzpatrick V to VI)
Yes. Short, dissolving needles and no heat make it one of the lower-risk texture steps.
Skin already using a retinal
Yes. Skip the retinal on the patched area on patch nights.
Sensitive skin
Usually. Start with 20 minutes, once a week, and build up.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding or trying to conceive
No. Contains retinal, per ESK.
Broken, irritated or freshly treated skin
No. Wait until it has settled.
Anyone wanting a clinic-level result
A patch softens; it does not remove. Microneedling or polynucleotides in clinic do more.
Using it with what you already own
Retinal night creams
Yes, on alternate nights. Not on the same area on the same night.
Eye Serum
Yes. Eye Serum every morning and on non-patch nights.
Acids (Smooth Serum, Gentle Glow)
Not on the patched area on patch nights.
Spotless Patches
Different job. Do not stack patches on the same area.
In-clinic microneedling or polynucleotides
Yes, between sessions, once your practitioner has cleared it.
SPF
Every morning, without exception.

Questions we actually get asked

What are ESK Ageless patches?

Single-use patches with 2,600 dissolving hyaluronic acid microneedles, 0.3mm long, carrying retinal, copper tripeptide-1, niacinamide, caffeine and peptides into the skin around the eyes, mouth and forehead, for the look of fine lines. Worn overnight at least twice a week. 16 patches per pack.

How do microneedle patches work?

The needles are made of solid hyaluronic acid with the actives in the tips. Pressed into the skin, they dissolve in its moisture, releasing retinal and peptides inside the top layers rather than on the surface, and the hyaluronic acid hydrates the area so it looks plumper.

Do microneedle patches hurt?

No. A brief pinprick sensation as the 0.3mm needles seat is normal; after that you will not feel the patch.

Do they really work on wrinkles?

They soften the look of fine lines with regular use, and the hyaluronic acid plumps the area for a day or so each time. They do not remove lines, and deep or movement lines (frown lines, deep crow's feet) need in-clinic treatment.

Are they as good as microneedling in clinic?

No. In-clinic microneedling goes deeper, treats the whole face and is done by a practitioner. Patches are the at-home step between a cream and the clinic, and work well between sessions.

How long do I leave them on?

At least 20 minutes, and preferably overnight, per ESK.

How often should I use them?

At least twice a week, per ESK. A pack of 8 pairs is about 2 months at that rate.

Where can I use them?

Crow's feet, under the eyes, smile lines, forehead and between the brows. Not on broken or irritated skin.

Can I use them with my retinal?

Yes, on alternate nights. On patch nights, skip the retinal on the patched area; the patch already carries retinal.

Can I use them in pregnancy?

No. The patches contain retinal, and ESK states they are not for use while pregnant or trying to conceive.

Are they suitable for sensitive skin?

Usually. Start with 20 minutes once a week and build up. Mild pinkness for an hour after removal is normal; redness that lasts is not.

Are they suitable for deeper skin tones?

Yes. They are suitable for all skin types, including deeper skin tones (Fitzpatrick V to VI). Short, dissolving needles and no heat make them one of the lower-risk ways to work on texture on skin that marks easily. Apply to dry skin, do not rub, and stop if the area stays red.

Why must my skin be completely dry?

The needles are hyaluronic acid, which dissolves in moisture. Any water or serum on the skin dissolves them before they can seat, and the patch will not work.

Can I reuse a patch?

No. The needles dissolve on use. Each patch is single use.

Will there be residue?

Sometimes a little where the hyaluronic acid has dissolved. Rinse with water in the morning.

Do they contain fragrance?

No fragrance or essential oils appear in the ingredient list.

How many patches are in a pack?

16 patches, in 8 pairs.

Are they cruelty free and vegan?

Yes. ESK states that Ageless patches are cruelty free and vegan.
